I always search for all kinds of inspiring stories. I ran across two recently I would like to share with you. The first story is about Alaska Airlines. I am not sure if it is a true story or not – but it sounds like it could be. The story goes that Alaska Airlines used to give out cards with scripture on them when serving meals. Now they don't serve meals at some spots, and also even if they do, it sounds like no more scripture cards are distributed.
Some of God's Word on the cards used to read as Psalm 118:29..."Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever and Psalm 9:2..."I will be glad to rejoice in You, I will sing praise to Your name, O most High!"
I don't really know why the practice was stopped. Maybe they had more complaints than thanks for the uplifting scripture. Maybe they changed ownership, and didn't believe in the value of scripture in people's lives as important.
It actually might connect with the thought of my second story, which I will tell you after this one. It is really pretty simple. Either you believe in the Bible, and that God made the world in which we live in seven days, and that He made the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve first sinned, and since they did so, we all inherit sin. And this sin's punishment is physical death – and spiritual death, if you don't come to faith in Jesus Christ, or you believe in something else than God's truth in His Bible.
If you believe in the Bible, you usually enjoy the uplifting comforting promises God has given us about deliverance from all the problems we will face in this world, and that we WILL face problems, but they will be fleeting because as one day passes by, we are one day closer to Heaven! We live in mortal bodies that are slowly aging, and some day, we who believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior will have renewed, perfect bodies in Heaven.
More of those uplifting promises that are awesome to read. I Corinthians 13:10… but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. I Corinthians 15:42… So it will be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. 56... The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
I am sorry that Alaska Airlines discontinued offering scripture on their Airline travel. They are missing out on a truly great opportunity and service that they could provide to America, because God's Word truly saves lives!
I also do not know if this next story really happened or not, but there is truth in the scripture and words used in the story. The story goes something like this: In a Florida court an Atheist brought a case before it complaining that Christians get Holy Holidays: Easter, Christmas, etc. but Atheists did not get any, so it was a form of discrimination. After hearing the Atheist complain for a while that the Jews also got Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, the Judge said, “But you are wrong; you have a holiday especially named after you.”
The Atheist said to the judge that he was totally unaware of any holiday specifically for them. The judge opened up the Bible to Psalm 14:1 and read, "But the fool says in his heart there is no God! There, April 1st is April Fools Day! All yours! Court is adjourned!”
God has given us plenty of information about everything He has done for us since He created this earth about 6 thousand years ago. There is only two roads to choose from: the one He leads and calls us to take, which is a sure and only way to Heaven. The other can be the choice to not serve or obey Him, but this choice will lead you to be lost forever in eternal damnation.
Please spend some time checking out God's Word if you are not already saved. You have nothing of importance to lose if God leads you to follow him. Faith in God is a call to love and peace with family and fellow man.
Philippians 4:7… and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Amen

Really liked Steve's Bible based comments. Our country needs much more. Seems like there are so many that are mad over such little things. They think God and his love is stupid. Someday He will have the last word. You people keep on keeping on. God's Blessings Richard
