| We have all talked before about the reason for the season, which usually refers to Christmas. (That was a very important first step in our salvation. Our Savior had to be born first!) But this season we are in now is the culmination of our salvation. Jesus had to and did keep the Law for us perfectly, then on Psalm Sunday rode into Jerusalem on a Donkey very humbly. He was preparing the disciples and us for the rest of our earthly life by instituting the Lord’s Supper (Eucharist) on Maundy Thursday and suffering and dying on the cross Good Friday. Why do we call it good Friday on the day that our Savior died? When Jesus proclaimed on the cross, “It is finished,” He meant redemption for our sins was complete. “Though they be as red as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow!” We could now stand before God with Jesus standing between us and be forgiven for our sins and allowed Heavenly entry if we believe in Jesus Christ. The final culmination of our salvation victory was Easter morning, when God raised His son Jesus Christ from the grave to be at His right hand. All who believe will rise also on judgment day to be in paradise with God. This faith and new life is given to us in Baptism and through the Word of God. In Baptism, if you do not already believe you may start your faith, which joins you with Jesus’ death and resurrection. Every day we can relive our Baptism, which is essentially drowning sins’ punishment because of Jesus’ death, and celebrating victory and hope, which is certain of our resurrection because Jesus died and rose from the dead. Not because of anything we did or deserve. Ephesians 2:8… For it is by grace are we saved, through faith, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. (Which essentially means we are saved purely from all of God’s work, through gifts of hearing the Word of God and gifting faith to us.) God gives us this Gift because He loves us, not deserving it (life), but death – a stumbling block to all unbelievers. This Lenten Season let us be reminded of the reason for the season. John 3:16… For God so loved the World, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Please go find a Christian Church, which proclaims the Bible in its truth and purity with the one true God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One that teaches the truth of Salvation that is already won and free to all who believe in Jesus Christ and are sorry for their sins. A recent poll across the nation asks the question, “Do you believe in God?” Somewhere between 60% and 90% say yes, they believe in God. Even Satan believes and knows there is a God, but that won’t get him into Heaven, or for that matter anyone who doesn’t believe in the one true God–the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the only one True God of which believing in Him will get you to Heaven. The Sun God, or money, or anything of such is not a God that brings salvation. That old philosophy ‘as long as you believe in something you should be ok’ just doesn’t cut it! The true God is not ‘generic’ – He is demanding and just. In the first commandment he expects us to fear, love, and trust in Him above all things. Romans 6:23… The wages of sin is death (not just physical death but eternal death, Hell). But the gift of God is eternal life–Heaven. Prayer: In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, if I am not currently a believer please bring your Holy Spirit into my heart and soul and make me a new person – a believer in the one true God. If my faith is weak please make it strong! I know that none on this will happen because of my abilities or work. But the gift of the True God is the forgiveness of sins freely and life and salvation to all who call upon His name and believe it. Thank you Lord for granting the Holy Spirit to come into my life and the life of my family members also. Please continue to have your angels guard and protect us from all danger. We pray all this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ who laid down his life for us this Lenten Season, and is the reason we are represented in Revelation 14:3…144,000 who have been redeemed from the earth and Revelation 7:4…Then I hear the number of those that were sealed (saved), 144,000, which is the church militant or alive now on earth fighting the devil during the millennium, or 1000 years. And then again, represented after judgment day Revelation 7:9…the Great Multitude (church triumphant) ...they were wearing white robes (no sin, clean) and were holding palm branches (Psalm Sunday). Amen. May the Holy Spirit grant faith into your heart through the Word of God so you may be joining in the 144,000 now and the great multitude after judgment day! God’s Blessings |
